Getting Started

Step 1: Search online for “AUTOMATIC1111 Stable Diffusion WebUI GitHub”.

Step 2: Download and install Python (3.10 or later) and Git.

Step 3: Clone the WebUI repository from GitHub.

Step 4: Run the webui-user.bat file (Windows) or equivalent script for Mac/Linux.

Step 5: The interface opens in your browser — usually at http://127.0.0.1:7860.

Step 6: Download a model checkpoint (e.g. Stable Diffusion v1.5 from Hugging Face).

Step 7: Drop the .ckpt or .safetensors file into the /models/Stable-diffusion folder.

Step 8: Restart the WebUI and select the model from the dropdown.

Step 9: Now you can type in prompts and hit Generate.
